Edin Rose on being followed by a drunk man

In an Instagram post late Monday night, Edin described the harrowing experience. She wrote, “I have been staying in Mumbai from 2020, and never ever have I felt unsafe in this city. At any hour of the night or however dressed I would be, but to clear the air I was wearing a FULL track suit like you can see, and a mask, Which means other than my fingers and eyes there is nothing that you can see, have to clear this out before the clothing police comes on here to school me on my clothing (sic).”

Narrating her ordeal, she said, “Me and a girl friend were going in a rickshaw from Juhu to Bandra like we always do yk to chill, get some air after a whole day of work. And sometimes yk people recognise us with our masks on too but today that was not the case. A man in a Jaguar, drank followed us for 20 mins, swearving right to left because he’s intoxicated and going with us to wherever we were headed. This man not only jeopardised everyone’s safety on the road with his drunk driving but also made sure to make us know that he’s not going to back off. Even when we recorded his face and his number plate he was persistent, matlab tu kya dubai tak ghar tak chordega mujhe ya kya?”

Edin then took a dig at the hullabaloo around the India’s Got Latent episode and wrote, “Sab jo latent latent kar rahe ho, aurato ki suraksha par dhyan do. This man was in a jaguar and comes from money and has the audacity to be a relentless creep, even when he knows he’s being recorded.”

She then highlighted how there should be strict action against such acts. She added, “What are we actually concentrating on, why is there no fear among these creeps. Na law ka dar hai na kuch, as a society what are we doing to make sure our women are safe? Cycle wala ho ya Jaguar wala, parwarish achhi karo apne beto ki toh samaaj mein rehne layak honge sab!”

On the work front, Edin had rose to fame with Ravi Teja’s Ravanasura. She will next be seen in Nayanthara’s production venture.
